What is Rail Rush

An action game designed for the Android, you assume the role of an Indiana Jones-type figure who must escape from the mine using a speeding, rogue trolley. At the start, the game goes painfully slow, but as you overcome obstacles and advance, the game turns into full-blown madness. If you happen to die, you will see the final result so that you can compare your results with players from across the globe and compete against friends.

Comparing it to other games, one of its twins is Temple Run, where the world takes on a frontal perspective and you're looking at forking paths and obstacles you have to jump over. You also have to leap over pitfalls, dodge crash points and collect other objects to continue advancing for the ultimate score. The more meters you run, the faster the scenery moves. You will have to slide left or dodge right to continue collecting trophies. The sound effects and graphics in Rail Rush look great, and this Android game is one of the few where it makes sense to slap on some headphone and listen to the sound because it deepens your experience and immerses you.

Rail Rush keeps you deeply engaged and attentive, but it ultimately suffers from the slow poison of repetitiveness. After a period of time, you will have played through much of it, and you will grow tired of the same monotonous tone of the game, especially because you have to start from the beginning every time you die. You have six different areas to explore, which truthfully is not a lot.

From the moment you enter the world of Rail Rush, the colorful and pop-out-of-the-screen graphics will draw you in. You have a wide selection of items and upgrades, and you can dodge many of the in-app purchases like you do in the game without suffering hardships. Throughout the game, gold placement will coincide with taking the correct path, and the game designers pulled no fake punches, tricking gamers into taking a wrong turn. In some ways, it'd be nice if they had made it a little less predictable.

If you played Temple Run and loved the alarming simplicity, you will like Rail Rush as well. The game drops you into a cart, where you start with a brief introduction to the controls. Unlike other games in the running genre, you can't tilt yourself over the edge in a deadly drop that goes to dark oblivion. As you continue in the game, you can unlock bonus characters with the money earned to ride the trolley with different characters. That's about it. There's not much more to it. Download this game today to pass the time while waiting in line or sitting in the subway.
